I was in Tinian with the 1036 CB attached to the 4th Marines, I believe.
Our detachment later joined the 27th CB Spl. The Black Sea Bees I talked
with in Tinian were from Puerto Rico

Forgot to mention that an unknown unit of Black Seabees was on Tinian. Some
of the 112th Shipmates ate with them because they hade great food!

We are searching for pics and unit name. This is very mysterious - like no
pics or records were kept by th USN????????

Anyhow, I would like to see them and every unit get credit on the monument
for the "Effort at Tinian" that ultimatley destroyed the Empire

Please keep in touch with me about the 27th Special and other specials /

Your photos of Tinian and Okinawa were very familiar and of course
interesting. Your outfit and ours must have sailed together in the same
overloaded ships or convoys. In ref. to the B29s in Tinian, if my aging
brain recalls, the one we sponsored never returned from a raid in Japan. I
also somewhat remember that Tokyo Rose had allegedly assumed that there was
another Sea Bee Air Force. Thank you for suggesting I take a look at your
website.

I am Chadwick Lance MacKay and I served in the 3rd Brigade (NCB) from
9/67-9/68 and the 30th Regiment (NCR) from 9/67-9/68. I am having
difficulties dealing with the VA on some service issues. My files are BLANK
as I had a secret clearance. They cant even identify my unit or me being in
country except for my DD214.

I would like to contact anybody that knew me there in Danang (Red Beach)
Vietnam. I remember a Cdr. John W. Tombarge, Lt Cdr Little, Lt Cdr Nelson
an E3 named Frogg, a Steven R. Blough and a mechanic whose name escapes me
except I called him Ski as his real name was something like Sandowski.

Thank you for this web site and all it does to promote CB Veterans
everywhere plus the VA hospital staff in Seattle.

Any of you out there happen to be in Cua Viet, up on the DMZ in Nam, in
early 1967? I am interested in somw photos of Cua Viet area; i.e. ramp,
huts and so on. I was there Mar 67-Oct 67 offloading LST's. I have lost
the ones I had over the years. Any would be apprceiated. I can be
contacted at gwat3352@bigpond.net.au

Thanks

Glenn

was attached to CBU-402 Pensacola Jan 71-Dec 73. One of the base duty
stations. Great bunch of guys.

I am trying to locate, for a friend of mine Stephen Luebke (72), some of
his Seabee buddies from long ago. His unit was the Mobile Construction
Battallion No. 8. His heartiest memories are from the early 1950s.

Please contact me if you can direct me to some retirees from this Unit No.8
Thank you...and thank you for your service to this still great country.

It is never very far from my mind that we owe so much to so many, so that
we can walk in freedom today. I was lucky to serve "between wars"
('55-'58) but so many were not.
